What does it Cost to use the Road?
The Eastern Distributor is privately built and operated. A toll of $5.00 applies to cars and $9.50 to trucks travelling North. No toll applies for users travelling South.

Where will I Pay?
The toll booths are located before the exit to Macquarie Street
and the Harbour crossings (see diagram) and before the exit to
William Street (see diagram).
Please note that if using the Northbound William Street exit and connecting to the Cross City Tunnel that the toll is still payable, there is a tolling gantry overhead and the toll on this connection can only be paid by way of electronic tag. There is no cash option on this connection"

Why do we need it?
It is quicker, easier and saves fuel. Using the Eastern Distributor
you can predict how long your journey will take. It also helps users
by:- - Avoiding 19 sets of traffic lights, - Travel times between
the city and the airport reduced significantly, - Less traffic on
local roads, - Safer routes for cyclists on local roads; and - Priority
lanes for buses.
Is it Quicker to get to the Airport?
Yes, travel times between the city and the airport have been reduced
significantly with the lights at Botany Road being the first stop
from the city.

How
is the Tunnel Configured?
The 1.7 kilometer tunnel running under Darlinghurst, East Sydney
and Surry Hills extends from near Cathedral Street, Woolloomooloo
to Driver's Triangle, at Moore Park beneath Fitzroy Street. It
has connections to South Dowling Street, Anzac Parade and Moore
Park Road.
The tunnel is a 'double deck' configuration with the southbound
lanes below the northbound lanes.
What
is "The Parkway"?
The Parkway feature extends along South Dowling Street from
Fitzroy Street to Maddison Street and is 5-6 metres below street
level for most of this length. The Parkway passes beneath the major
intersection at Cleveland Street. Dacey Todman Tunnel passes under
Dacey and Todman Avenue intersections.

Where
is “Driver’s Triangle”?
Driver’s Triangle (named after the first surveyor of this area) is
the area formed by the intersection of Fitzroy Street, South Dowling
Street, Flinders Street, Moore Park Road and Anzac Parade.

Will it be Quicker for Commuters?
NRMA studies have shown 10 minute savings.
What do I do if I Break Down in the Tunnel?
Stay in your car. The Motorway Control Centre has cameras that monitor
the length of the road. A tow truck or service vehicle will quickly
come to your assistance.
What do I do if I have an Accident?
As above: Wait for the tunnel emergency services crew to come to
your assistance.

Where are the Emergency Phones?
There are emergency phones which allow you to communicate directly
with the Motorway Controller in the control room. They are in the
breakdown bays and every 60 metres in the tunnel.
Where I do go if there is a Major Incident
in the Tunnel?
There are exit points every 120 metres. Go through the exit door.
This is fire rated for fours and will provide protection.

Where do the Emergency Exits go to?
Usually these will lead you to the other tunnel, which is directly
above or below the tunnel you are in.
What is a “Double Decker” Tunnel?
This is a two level tunnel in which one tunnel is directly over the
other.

The E-Way Tag will work on all of the Sydney tollroads. Apply online or
